AMAZING ACTS OF KINDNESS~FB4K HEROES!

The week before the opening of the 2019 Free Bikes 4 Kidz season on October 5th, we are honoring a few of our favorite people who have worked passionately to put kids on bikes!

There’s still time turn your dusty old bikes into shiny new rides for kids in need! https://www.allinahealth.org/about-us/community-involvement/initiatives-and-programs/allina-health-and-free-bikes-4-kidz

With this little trailer, and a great big heart, Deb Fortner has single handedly collected 439 bikes for the Free Bikes 4 Kidz bike collection on October 5th! She began with 9 bikes in 2017, 77 bikes last year, and filled her back yard this year giving a second life to the bicycles and to the kids who will receive them in December. Thank you Deb!
Sloane has been hosting her Lemonade Stand at the Minneapolis Bike Tour for 4 years now, collecting donations for Free Bikes 4 Kidz, and this year she raised $1,031.61. It costs us $30 to put a child on a bike with a new helmet, so Sloane just put 34.387 kids on bikes! When life gives you lemons, make lemonade? Or…bikes! Thank you Sloane!
Mr. Michaels trailers arrive steadily every fall to the Free Bikes 4 Kidz warehouse. Benita and Michael save and store kids bikes for us all year long. They have been giving bikes away for 21 years, operated their shop for over 11 years, and continue to host
6 city collection events per year. Thank you Mr. Michael Recycles Bicycles!
Suzanne Gilbert knows the value of a good bike, and she wants to share. She got the trailer to pick up bikes, a storage backyard in Richfield, a team put together and she encourages everyone reading this to donate a used bicycle to Free Bikes 4 Kidz this Saturday during the city-wide @allinahealth Bike Collection. It’s a beautiful thing!
Thank you Suzanne!
Former KARE anchor Diana Pierce searches for ‘What’s Next’ with a new online show, and once again this year she has done an amazing interview with Free Bikes 4 Kidz founder, Terry Esau. https://youtu.be/-Tr7xCBL2DQ
Thank you Diana for your enthusiasm and your constant support!
